Celebrating Academic Excellence

Welcome to Scholars Week 2025

Scholars Week 2025, Western Washington University’s annual, week-long celebration of outstanding student research and creative works will be held spring quarter, May 12 – 16. Western’s undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to showcase their finest academic accomplishments, highlighting the significance of faculty mentorship and student scholarship. Such student achievements include presentations of completed research, research in progress, creative activities and performance.

Last year, Scholars Week 2024 featured the return of four highly anticipated and well-attended events: the annual Poster Session, Three-Minute Thesis Talks, MFA/MA Creative Writing Presentations, and Faculty/Student Group Collaborations, which featured research, creative work, or other academic projects resulting from collaborative participation between students and their instructors. In addition, Scholars Week events and activities were hosted throughout the week by departments, programs and colleges across campus.

Planning for Scholars Week 2025 is in process, with an event schedule to be posted late winter quarter.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and showcase the work of Western’s talented and hard-working students. One additional way to support Scholars Week is with a donation made through the Scholars Week WWU fundraising site. Your gift will help support various Scholars Week activities. We appreciate your generosity. Thank you for supporting Scholars Week.
